All Barrel Bar Certification attempts or questions regarding certification can be submitted via our Contact Us Form.
How to Bend
The Bar may be bent according to the following categories:
Unbraced - Bar may be bent using Reverse/Double/Overhand/Double Underhand/etc. styles. The hands and arms must not touch body below the waist.
Braced - Bar may touch any part of the body except the feet.
Barehand - Same rules as Unbraced, but no pads may be used.
The attempt is successful if the bolt was bent to an "U" and the insides of the legs are not more than 2” ( 5cm) apart. This must be shown at the end.
The bend must be completed in 5 minutes - from first to last hit.
Equipment
Single, double, or crush pads of any brand are allowed, but they must be of flexible material. Homemade pads subject to judge discretion. Chalk (block, powder, or liquid) is allowed. No tape, gloves, or wrist wraps allowed.
Video
The attempt must be filmed in hi quality video with no cuts.
At the beginning, the bar must be shown and the diameter measured with a caliper and the length measured with a ruler or a tape measure.
The bar must not leave the frame and the pads must be demonstrated to be flexible with nothing inside them.
Miscellaneous
Tie-breaking will be done by looking at the bend time (first hit to last hit). Bars can be shortened in 1/2” increments for better placing on the list, with a shorter bar beating a longer bar, regardless of bend time.
